About APF

The African Pharmaceutical Forum (APF) is the FIP sixth Regional forum of National Pharmaceutical Organizations in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) African regional office. The forum was founded in May 2004 in the capital of Zimbabwe.

Objective of the forum

Is to increase partnership dialogue, understanding and activity in different world regions, enabling pharmacy profession to have a greater impact on improving Pharmacy services and health by focusing on distinct local or regional needs.

Strategies

  • Mobilizing Pharmacists and pharmacy associations in our region to the new paradigm shifts in pharmacy practice.
  • Collaboration with WHO regional and country offices.
  • Plan and execute national and regional projects that will have direct impact in improving Pharmacists' roles in healthcare delivery.
  • Training and retraining for Pharmacists.
  • Research and documentation.
  • Increase Pharmacists' participation in Public Health.
  • Publication and Dissemination of Healthcare information.
  • Influence review of curriculum for the training of Pharmacists.
  • Increase the participation of Pharmacists from our region in FIP/WHO activities.
